Afternoons in Spain were too hot to be outside. No beaches, just heat. So my brothers and I stayed in, watching movies. Light, shadow, movement, stillness—frame by frame, I absorbed the language of images before I even knew what I was looking at.
When I wasn’t watching, I was outside. Eleven years in the scouts taught me how to read the land, how silence can tell a story, and how the light shifts and transforms the ordinary.
I grew up in a house filled with science. My grandmother was a pioneer—the first woman in my hometown to become a university chemistry lecturer. My parents, both doctors, saw the world through precision and logic. Curiosity was expected, and questions were encouraged. Maybe that’s why I see photography the way I do—not just as an art, but as an exploration. A search for meaning in light, form, and fleeting moments.
For years, I shaped images in a different way—working as an art director in a big agency, crafting campaigns for global brands. But something was missing. I didn’t just want to direct the vision; I wanted to be behind the camera to capture something real. So I jumped.
I left the familiar streets of Spain for the vastness of Australia. A foreigner in an endless landscape, always looking, always searching.
That’s why I became a photographer—to make sense of distance, to find beauty in the in-between, to tell stories in the way I always wanted, to decode meaning in images.
I love movies, good food, a good coffee or a nice pint of ale. If you have an idea you want to talk about, feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear from you.
