“This, he thought with a sort of vague distaste — this was London, chief city of Airstrip One, itself the third most populous of the provinces of Oceania.”
Airstrip One
Over 48 hours in April of 2025, I explored the streets of London — or Airstrip One, as imagined in Orwell’s 1984. I photographed decay, surveillance, and the quiet erosion of public space. Fences where freedom should be, cameras watching silence. These images reflect a city caught between illusion and control — a mirror of our global condition. This project isn’t just about London. It’s about all of us, living beneath the systems we’ve grown too used to.
